If you like what you’ve seen so far and you’re interested in having your wedding at Penhein, we’d be delighted to show you around. To book a recce, please get in touch and we’ll arrange a date. Contact Teresa or Helen at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on +44 (0)1633 400581.
The glampsite is not included in the wedding package and needs to be booked separately. This is for the simple reason that, unlike the other items listed in our packages, the price for the glampsite varies throughout the season and the exact cost will depend on the date of your wedding. We can provide a quote for hiring the glampsite once we know your date, so if you have one in mind already, please let us know when you make an enquiry.
If you, as the organisers, are not planning on booking and paying for the whole glampsite yourselves, we can help manage individual bookings directly with your guests, giving you one less thing to think about.
You are welcome to work with the relevant supplier to book additional services. If you are not sure who to contact please contact us and we’ll be delighted to help and if necessary ask the relevant supplier to get in touch.
We use one style of tipi for wedding receptions at Penhein as per the recommendation of our expert hire partner, Cotswold Tipis. They’ve done hundreds of weddings before, creating brilliantly atmospheric structures and seeing to all the logistics as well, so we’re inclined to follow their advice!
The number of tipis varies depending on the size of the wedding – from one giant tipi in our smallest package to three interconnected tipis in our largest. If you’d like additional space you can book an extra tipi via Cotswold Tipis.
Couples work closely with Cotswold Tipis to arrange the configuration inside the reception tipi, designing a layout to suit their needs and numbers. You can then decorate the space according to your theme.
Our wedding packages have been thoughtfully designed to help you with the big, logistical and sometimes rather complicated parts of planning a wedding whilst leaving plenty of room for you to put your personal stamp on things. We work with a handful of selected partners to coordinate the key event production elements, such as catering, tipi, facilities, power and lighting, but there are some things that you’ll need to handle yourself, including flowers, decorations, photography, and music. Essentially, we provide the canvas but it’s your masterpiece!

Different people have different interpretations of what a wedding planner does, so if you’re unsure about what we do or don’t offer, please get in touch. Rest assured that if there’s anything we can’t help with, we can certainly point you in the direction of someone who can. We’ll happily share our list of recommended local suppliers with you once your booking is confirmed and your date is set.
We’ll need to let the caterer know your final numbers no later than 5 weeks before the wedding, so please make sure your deadline for guests to RSVP is well in advance of that date to allow for any chasing up you may have to do! Please note, once the final headcount has been submitted you are committed to paying for that number regardless of any last minute drop-outs.
Both Bristol and Cardiff airports are within easy reach, and there are regular train services to and from Newport and Chepstow, so we’re well connected for guests travelling in from afar. For those coming from closer to home, we’re only 20 minutes from the M4 – although you’d never know, given how rural and quiet it is here!
If you’re interested in booking your wedding at Penhein, get in touch with us via email at email@example.com or by calling us on +44 (0)1633 400581. We’ll check our partners’ availability for your chosen dates and can also provide an estimate for hiring out the glampsite (this is an additional cost to your chosen package).
In order to secure your date, we ask for a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total package cost plus 25% of the hire of the glampsite.
The exact day that you can access the glampsite, meadow and tipi depends on a number of factors, including the availability of our partners, the day of your wedding and the weather. Specific information about access will be shared once your dates are confirmed, but to give you an indication:
It is not possible to book an alternative caterer for the Wedding Breakfast- but we promise you won’t be disappointed by The Hogfather! Having worked with them before, we know and trust they’ll do a brilliant job, providing high quality catering for your wedding reception – from canapés and cocktails, to a free-range hog roast and a delicious selection of side salads. They’ll also supply all the crockery, cutlery and staff.
You’re welcome to book additional caterers to provide food for any other meal over the course of the wedding weekend, or of course you can cook for yourselves!
Yes this is no problem. We can offer vegan/plant based/vegetarian options. If this is something you would like to discuss please feel free to contact us for further information.
Monmouthshire-based merchants of quality wines, Fingal Rock, come highly recommended. It is not possible to use an alternative supplier for the wine and fizz provided in your wedding package. However you can choose from a selection on our wine list and you can supplement what is provided either using our wine list or another supplier of your choice. Please note that if you do choose to supply additional wine from another supplier, all co-ordination, delivery, chilling etc is your responsibility. Please contact us if you would like to see our wine list.
Yes. A team of servers supplied by The Hogfather, our catering partner, will be on hand throughout your wedding reception.
We think it’s important that your wedding feels as private as if it were in your own back garden, so we won’t be present on the day. However, we’re only a stone’s throw away and we’ll be easily contactable in case of emergency.
Out of respect for our neighbours (that includes the local wildlife), all music must be turned off at midnight.
We are passionate about being as sustainable as possible and so composting and recycling is central to everything we do. We will provide clearly marked bins throughout the site for mixed recycling, composting, glass and general rubbish. We are unable to dispose of rubbish if it is not correctly sorted into these categories. It is also your responsibility to ensure that all litter is picked up from the site and placed into the correct rubbish bins. If we find litter and/or that rubbish has not been correctly sorted we will use the Damage Deposit to cover additional staff costs.
You are responsible for any damage caused to the site or any equipment used during your wedding and stay with us, whether this is caused by you or your guests. We therefore require a £1,500 deposit to cover any losses, damage or additional cleaning charges that may arise if the Glampsite, equipment or Meadow are left in an unsatisfactory state.
The Damage Deposit is payable 14 days before wedding date and will be refunded within 14 days after the wedding date, provided that no further costs are chargeable as result of any damage caused to the site or clean-up costs as described above. We will contact you within 14 days of your wedding date should there be an issue. Please be aware that, in the unlikely event that any damage exceeds the amount of the Damage Deposit, you will be responsible for the balance.
