Glamping Checklist

What’s Included & What to Bring

Below is an overview of what is provided as part of your stay at Penhein, followed by some ideas of what you should think about bringing with you.

What’s Included

We know that small things can make a big difference, so as well as covering the basics, we like to include a few little luxuries and personal touches. This includes a welcome hamper with our compliments with some lovely local goodies to set you up for your stay.

Eating

We reckon cooking is one of the best bits of glamping. Get back to basics and barbecue on the fire pit, brew tea, coffee and bubbling one-pot dishes on the stove inside your tent. If all that sounds too daunting, there’s also the Cheat’s Kitchen for back-up, so you’re never too far from all the mod cons.

  • Wood-burning stove & wood
  • A custom-made cool box. It’s big! You can store all of your food for the weekend
  • Cold running water
  • Olive oil, salt & pepper, and chili flakes and meat rub to help you make the most of your BBQ
  • Fresh ground coffee, English Breakfast tea bags
  • Table & chairs
  • Teapot & cafetiere – for proper coffee!
  • Pots, pans, mugs & glasses
  • Crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils (including BBQ tongs)
  • Drying up cloth, washing up brush, scourer and washing up liquid
  • Candles, paraffin lamp and solar lamp (for midnight feasts)
  • Matches

Sleeping

Each of our tents can accommodate a family of two adults and up to four children, or a group of five adults.

  • 1 x double or 2 x single beds, 2 x truckle beds, 1 x sofa bed (sleeps 1 adult or 2 children)
  • Pillows, duvets, towels and bedlinen (we provide one towel per person, so feel free to bring your own extra if you would like)

What to Bring

We want your stay to be as hassle-free and relaxing as possible, so we provide the key ingredients to help you do camping really, really well (see above). However there are a few things that you’ll need to bring with you. First up, and most importantly, don’t forget to pack your adventurous spirit!

Food & drink

  • You can arrange a delivery from most of the major supermarkets for the day you arrive. Don’t forget the marshmallows!
  • Extra drying up cloth(s) – many guests find it helpful to have more than one
  • Loo roll – we provide one roll to get you started
  • Tin foil – not essential but great for baking potatoes in the embers of your fire pit
  • Clip-its or zip-lock bags to keep open foods airtight
  • Torch(es)

Glamping Essentials

  • Warm, waterproof clothing: wellies or walking boots, big socks, anoraks, etc. This is the UK, so it’s best to be prepared for all weathers!
  • A frisbee, football, rugby ball, rounders or cricket set. If you’re feeling energetic, there’s an 8-acre field a stone’s throw from the glampsite!
  • Slippers or thick socks to keep your toes cosy inside your alachigh
  • A picnic rug if you fancy lunch en plein air in the wild-flower meadow or by the stream
  • Outside rugs/blankets for fireside in spring/autumn
  • Hot water bottles
  • If you’re using one of our travel cots, please bring your child’s own preferred bedding. All other bedlinen is included
  • Extra towels. We provide one per person, so feel free to bring your own if you would like.
  • Blankets. Our duvets are 10 tog which are toasty warm most of the time but if you’re staying in the cooler months, it may be worth bringing additional blankets.

Pets

As we are a working farm, please do not bring your pets on holiday with you.
