Penhein Glamping – Rural Retreat in South Wales

Get Together

Shared Spaces

We want Penhein to feel like a home-away-from-home, which means not only making it cosy and comfortable, peaceful and private, but also making sure it’s geared up for groups and fun for families. After all, home is also about who you share it with.

There’s plenty of room inside your alachigh tent to hang out together and relax at the end of the day. But for something a bit more roomy or for special occasions, we also have two entertainment spaces: Petro and Chehel Sotoun.

Petro, the communal tent

Named after James’ grandfather’s farm in Iran, Petro is a permanent fixture on the glampsite. Custom-built and kitted out for families and friends to enjoy getting together as a group under canvas, it provides a communal area with a bit more space for all our guests to use. Inside you’ll find electrical sockets and a reading lamp, tables and chairs, bean bags, and lots of toys and games for entertainment. There’s a warming wood-burning stove and, just outside, a huge fire pit with sensational views across the meadows.

Chehel Sotoun, the events tent

Inspired by the grand pavilion where the king of Persia would host lavish receptions in the 17th century, Chehel Sotoun is our pop-up entertainment tent. Available on request for a small fee, it offers a fantastic space (12mx6m) in which to host group activities or celebrate special occasions – from sit-down dinners to off-site workshops, wholesome pilates to memorable parties.

Providing you have exclusive hire of the glampsite, you can decorate the entertainment tents with your own personal touch so they’re styled to suit the occasion. For information on booking the whole glampsite, visit our Group Bookings page.
