Many of you know that Penhein Glamping shares a little Persian twist with your glamping hosts – this Persian influence is down to James’ Iranian mother. Our alachigh tents are inspired by those of the nomadic Shahsavan tribe in Northern Iran with beautifully decorated interiors, combining exotic colours and patterns of the middle east with a rustic country charm.
We all love the emergence of Spring as we see the glimmer of longer, brighter days to spend outdoors. The Iranian/Persian New Year celebration, Nowruz, is one of the most important times of the year. Nowruz is the traditional Iranian festival of spring which starts at the exact moment of the vernal equinox, commencing the start of spring. It is also considered the start of the new year. We have always celebrated Nowruz as a family and in 2018, the Persian new year just happens to coincide with our Penhein opening weekend. So no better excuse was needed to create a special event to share our celebrations with our glampers!
