Introducing Penhein Coffee, in collaboration with Cupsmith
We’ve teamed up with our good friends at Cupsmith to launch Penhein Coffee. Blended exclusively for us and roasted by hand in small batches at Cupsmith’s lovely roastery barn in the Surrey countryside, Penhein Coffee is made from the very best Arabica beans.
The perfect cup for a country morning at Penhein waking up in your alachigh tent, simply boil the kettle on the wood-burning stove, fill the cafetiere, and let its deliciously smooth, sweet smell fill the tent. Enjoy a cup from the comfort of your bed, watching the clouds drift overhead through the skylight; or find a perch just outside and tuck into a hearty breakfast before setting off to explore the great outdoors. With notes of chocolatey smoothness, deep red fruits and a smidgen of spice, a mugful of this is sure to put a spring in your step!
Emma and George Crawford, the duo behind Cupsmith, are passionate about producing top notch coffee to drink at home – and pottering, as it happens. Shunning the relentless pace of modern life, they’re after a slower, more considered approach. One in which you rush less, meander more, allowing plenty of time for simply sitting down and enjoying a cup of coffee. It’s an ethos that we share at Penhein; we invite guests to escape to nature and switch off from the hustle and bustle of daily life from our unique spot in the heart of the Monmouthshire hills in South Wales.

As a business, our Cupsmith motto is ‘drink coffee sitting down, watching the clouds go by’, and where better to do just that than in the glorious Welsh countryside at Penhein glampsite?”. We couldn’t have put it better ourselves…
You’ll find a packet of Penhein Coffee tucked into the complementary welcome hamper that will greet you on arrival at the glampsite. The perfect pick-me-up after your journey, the hamper is jam-packed with a selection of deli items from independent producers or homemade by us – from traditional Welsh shortbread biscuits and chocolate buttons, to delicious cordial and jam made from freshly-picked fruit from our farm or locally.
Everything that’s in the hamper is available to buy, including our new coffee; we’ll deliver it by hand to your tent for you to take home or give as a gift – a lovely Penhein present.
