How about inviting your friends and family on an adventure in the wild? To a place where children can run free and play amongst nature, where grown ups can unwind away from stress and where you can cook together over the campfire and tell stories under the starry skies. If you’ve got an event on the horizon then come and celebrate it by taking over our award-winning glampsite. We can promise an experience like no other, where you’ll make memories to last a lifetime.
So what kind of groups work best at Penhein?
Family Gatherings
Once the children begin to multiply it can be tricky for families to get together under one roof. Take over the glampsite instead – we can accommodate up to 30 adults (or a group of 36 adults and children) sleeping in six luxurious tents. Sleep under canvas and get as close to nature as possible without compromising on luxury. Our tents have proper beds, flushing loos and wood burning stoves and, best of all, no-one is responsible for hosting so everyone gets to relax. Let the little ones make dens in the woods or chase about in the Adventure Playground whilst you share a local craft beer in the sunshine. If you don’t want to do all the cooking yourself why not try one of our fabulous catering options?
Birthday Parties
Gather your friends to toast another year with a new activity like wine tasting with our award-winning local wine merchant Tom Innes, or Botanical Gin Foraging in the woods with expert Adele Nozedar. If you’re feeling more active, team up and take on a Treasure Hunt across the estate, sign up for clay pigeon shooting or try Bushcraft and test your mettle with our Bush Tucker trials. As well as activities, we have plenty of catering options too, from hog roasts to a pop-up vintage cocktail van – and we can provide homemade birthday cakes as well!
Wedding Receptions at Penhein
We’re delighted to have welcomed our first wedding at Penhein this season with three more booked in June and July. Our glampsite boasts beautiful views out across the countryside and down to the river Severn, past trickling streams and ancient woodlands, providing a wonderfully romantic spot for a small and intimate wedding reception. Our marquee, Chehel Sotoun is the perfect space and looks beautiful when laid up for a party. As a glampsite (rather than a campsite!) we’ve got a luxurious shower block with underfloor heating, monsoon showers and a roll-top bath where guests can get ready. As well as our six luxurious alachigh tents, we can also provide additional bell tents for larger groups that spill out into the field. There’s no need to worry about space – our wildflower meadow is vast (8 acres!) so you really can create the festival style wedding of your dreams. And remember, we can also host hen and stag parties for groups too.
Company Away Days & Office Parties
There’s something inspiring about getting out of the office and into a new environment; particularly when that new environment involves acres of rolling countryside. Take over the glampsite for your Away Day; learn new skills, bond as a team and re-connect over group activities. Or come for your office party, as Propercorn did last year, calling it ‘the best party we’ve ever had.’
Wellness Retreats
There couldn’t be a more peaceful setting for a quiet retreat. Last year we welcomed several yoga groups who used our beautiful Chehel Sotoun for their yoga practise, with the sides rolled up and the fresh air flowing in. You could always incorporate one of our activities too; Forest Bathing, Foraging, Nature Trails or your yogis can opt for a relaxation treatment – what could be more relaxing than listening to the birds whilst your knots are massaged away? There’s so much to enjoy that will leave you feeling fit and well.
Group Glamping Testimonials
So what do our group guests have to say?
Amy (bride-to-be) came to stay for her hen party in April 2019: “It was the best weekend ever – more than I could ever have hoped for!”
Catherine was the staff party organiser for wonderful popcorn company Propercorn in July 2018:
“The team had the best time. Please can you also thank the guys for the survival skills afternoon…the bush tucker trials were brilliant! The party tent looked fantastic and you have all just been so great and accommodating.”
Emma and her friends came to stay for her 30th birthday weekend in September 2018:
“I just wanted to say a huge thank you for such a wonderful weekend at Penhein. From start to finish it has been an absolute pleasure to organise my birthday party with you all. Organising a weekend away for 27 people isn’t easy and you made the experience as stress free as possible! The site truly is beautiful and we did have everything we could possibly need. The tents are very special and the little touches with the flowers and the welcome packs made it very personal. Your coffee in particular was delicious and I’m sad I forgot to buy some more before I left! The shower block is also lovely, what a luxury! Camping will never be the same again. James, thank you for all of your help whilst we were there. The treasure hunt in particular was a highlight for everyone. I will most definitely be recommending Penhein to anyone who will listen, it really did surpass all my expectations. We had such a wonderful time so thank you again.”
Planning an event usually means getting organized well in advance. Take a look at our calendar; we’ve just opened up bookings for 2020. And do drop us an email if you’d like to discuss your event in more detail.
