February 26, 2026
Spring may still feel just out of reach, but at Penhein we’re already dreaming of lighter evenings, glowing fire pits and families gathering under canvas once again.
We officially reopen on 27th March 2026, and bookings are now open for the season ahead.
There’s something special about this time of year on the farm. The promise of longer days, the smell of woodsmoke drifting through the trees, children running between the tents and the sense of space that only the countryside can offer. If you’ve been craving fresh air and time together outdoors, this is your sign to start planning.
Over the winter months, we’ve been carefully refining and enhancing the experience across our woodland glampsite.
We’re excited to introduce our new outdoor kitchen, complete with:
• A wood-fired pizza oven
• Dedicated prep space
• A huge BBQ
• Space designed for shared cooking
Sitting alongside Cheat’s Kitchen, this new addition makes it even easier to gather, cook and eat together. Whether it’s pizza nights under canvas, relaxed BBQ feasts or simple breakfasts outdoors, the focus is always on bringing people together.
New for 2026 is The Shepherd’s Wash House, a beautifully finished, fully accessible space with one shower and two loos.
Designed to feel warm and welcoming rather than purely functional, it blends practicality with Penhein’s rustic countryside character. Like everything here, it’s been created with care and attention to detail, ensuring comfort without losing the charm of staying in the woods.
Spring at Penhein also means lambing season.
This year we’re expecting around 200 lambs, including 25 sets of triplets, making it one of the most magical times to stay on the farm.
Guests visiting during lambing season can experience Lambing Live and witness new life unfolding just a short walk from their tent. It’s a wonderful reminder that Penhein isn’t just set in nature, it’s part of a working 230-acre farm in south Monmouthshire.
Penhein offers something a little different from a traditional campsite. There’s no tent to pitch, no sleeping bags to unroll, and no muddy trips across fields in the middle of the night.
Instead, you’ll find:
• Spacious alachigh tents
• Wood-burning stoves
• Proper beds
• Outdoor cooking spaces
• Woodland trails on your doorstep
• Space for children to explore safely
It’s glamping that balances rustic charm with genuine comfort.
Whether you’re planning a quiet family break, a countryside reset or simply time away from busy routines, spring is one of the most peaceful and rewarding times to visit.
Our season runs from March to November, and some of our most popular spring and early summer dates book quickly.
If you’ve been dreaming of countryside fires, wide open space and time to slow down, we’d love to welcome you to Penhein this season.
